Our pacifiers with a symmetrical flat teardrop shape are suitable for babies who prefer a flat, symmetrical teat shape. The teardrop shape encourages a tongue placement and sucking technique where the tongue is flat and presses the pacifier flat against the roof of the mouth, meaning that the baby doesn't need to suck as hard, as with a round pacifier, for the pacifier to flatten out in the mouth.
Like our other pacifiers, the teat is fitted with a valve that allows air to escape when the baby closes the teat. Thanks to this ventilation system, the air contained in the teat is expelled through the valve, flattening the teat and giving it a natural shape in the baby's oral cavity. The valve is also the reason why water may be present inside the teat after cleaning and sterilization. If this is the case, simply press the teat flat to release the excess water.
We offer two different shields for our symmetrical flat teardrop-shaped teats, to meet demand in terms of teat appearance and materials:
Supreme is our exclusive pacifier with a large shield. The shield is carefully designed with large holes on each side to ensure minimal contact with the sensitive, delicate skin around baby's mouth, which means less risk of moisture build-up through saliva that can cause rashes and sore spots. The protection comes in two different sizes, adapted to the size of the pacifier. The larger the teat, the greater the protection. The teat is available in natural rubber latex and silicone. The silicone teat features an innovative pattern that reinforces the material. Supreme is available in sizes 1 and 2.
